In October 2025, I was invited, along with my wife Larisa Kasumagić-Kafedžić, to participate in the Sophia Symposium Psychosocial Care for Children and Youth after Conflicts and Disasters: Peacebuilding Efforts through Creative Activities and International Exchange, as part of the Sophia University United Nations Weeks October 2025. For this event, I needed to prepare a collaborative art workshop focused on peacebuilding, social inclusion, and creative arts education for the students of the Education Department at Sophia University. My wife was invited as a keynote speaker, and since she has far more experience leading workshops that can be categorized as “peacebuilding through education” I thought it would be best to join forces to develop and realize this workshop. We previously participated in several projects together, but in different segments, and this was a unique opportunity for us to realize something jointly by bringing in each of our experiences and expertise. The result was a workshop titled Exploring Global Issues in Local Communities Through Peace Pedagogy and Collaborative Art: From Problems to Dialogue, from Canvas to Solutions.
