Hiroshige-e: Citadel and Počitelj on Neretva River
from One Hundred Famous Stops on Your Way to Seaside
First Sunday in June marks the first day of Cherry´s Week, the beginning of Počitelj International Art Colony. Colony and old city with fortress are very famous, both regionally and internationally. I just wondered what would Hiroshige paint?
I took cherry tree from Hiroshige´s Suijin Shrine and Massaki on the Sumida River (Sumidagawa Suijin no Mori Massaki), No. 35 from One Hundred Famous Views of Edo and juxtaposed it with the view of Počitelj. I even kept form of the title, but I added a bit of inside joke, because Počitelj is one of the must stops on the way to Adriatic Sea for average Bosnian, and for kids it usually means that next stop is seaside
