Solo Exhibition – Hanami (花見- Flower Viewing)
@ the CSMA, Gallery Nights Ithaca April-May
In December 2022 I was lucky to be part of the Annual Open Exhibition at the Community School of Music and Arts that led me to meeting with Robin Tropper-Herbel, Executive Director of the CSMA. She invited me to present my work in their gallery and this is it- Hanami (花見- Flower Viewing) at the CSMA, April 7.
For those who just got introduced to my artwork, Hanami exhibition back home was the selection of works done during the pandemic. In this case, it is much broader introduction to my work covering various ongoing series of paintings, dioramas, murals, street and digital art, created from 2009 to 2022. It includes canvases and fine art prints from different periods. These paintings are my flowers and the best time for hanami is on April 7, 2023 at 5PM at the CSMA, Ithaca.
While working on the selection of works and exhibition arrangement proposal I have realized that I have 25 paintings named after songs, or in one case after music album. Below is the YouTube playlist of those songs. I hope you will recognize the impression and the reflection of those songs in my paintings.
The show will run from April 7, 2023 until May 26, 2023.
Opening reception will be on Friday, April 7, 2023, 5–8 PM.
